UNI 11648: 2016 Project Manager
With the advent of Industry 4.0, the advanced specialization of the tertiary sector and the recent modifications to the Public Administration procurement code, the project organization is establishing itself as an efficient solution to achieve the objectives keeping costs and times under control. All the sectors need professional figures who, in addition to specific technical skills, also have transversal skills and knowledge, to guarantee to all the parties involved the management skills for the individual projects.
The project and the project management.
The international standard ISO 21500 “Guide to project management” defines the project as a single set of processes, composed of activities coordinated with start and end dates, realized to achieve the objectives of the process itself. Here, for the management of projects, it becomes essential to coordinate the various activities with initiatives and indicators designed to supervise and monitor the required skills, the team, the budget and times and risks.
The UNI 11648: 2016 Project Manager
The project manager, a long-time figure codified in the Anglo-Saxon world, arouses increasing attention in Italy. The UNI 11648 standard identifies the skills and abilities that must be possessed by the project manager, in addition to a broad knowledge of the specific sector. These are transversal skills ranging from the ability to select human resources for the composition of the team to the analysis of deviations, from the risk manager to reporting to customers and stakeholders.
The certification of the Project Manager can be requested by private and public administrations for the assignment of project management and is in any case a valuable introduction for freelancers or managers who operate in contexts characterized by organization by objectives.
The UNI 11648 standard, following the principle of verifying the candidate’s real skills regardless of the training path, does not impose a compulsory education or a degree of access. However, it should be highlighted that you have worked in projects or as a project manager for a period of 2-3 years.
However, we recommend a training course, structured or as an individual study, for Project Managers who, even if they have the necessary skills, are not familiar with the specific terminologies.
The certification exam consists of written parts, role plays and oral parts and is therefore a moment in which the candidate Project Manager has the opportunity to demonstrate to the AJA Europe Srl commission to be in possession of the required requisites.
